Why authors switch

Claims arrive everywhere. Answers should leave from one place.

Without release.claims

  • Requests scattered across email, DMs, YouTube comments, and platform forms
  • “Which video? Which claim ID?” Three replies before you can act
  • No reference number, so people ask whether you got the message
  • No history when the same channel comes back next month

With release.claims

  • One public address that every profile points to
  • A structured packet: project URL, track, claimant, claim ID, evidence
  • Reference number, private tracking link, and status emails, automatically
  • Timeline, auto-replies, saved replies, and analytics in one inbox

A clean chain of evidence

One link from profile to resolved request.

01

Create your page

Pick a name and a release.claims address. The page and its request form work right away; profiles and tracks come later from the dashboard.

02

Put the link everywhere

Paste the address, or the ready reply for DMs and comments, into your Pixabay and SoundCloud bios, your channel description, and video descriptions. Ask for the Verified badge whenever you want it.

03

Resolve from one inbox

Requesters provide the platform link, track, claimant, claim ID, and license evidence up front. You review, reply, and close with a status everyone can see.

Beyond claim releases

Every request type, one queue.

Licensing leads, feedback, suggestions, and complaints use the same form, reference numbers, and timeline as claim releases. Your public page becomes the front door for everyone who uses your music.

Rights

Claim release

A Content ID or copyright claim landed on a project that uses the music legitimately.

Rights

Video safelist

Clear one published video before or after a claim appears.

Rights

Channel safelist

Clear a whole channel so future uploads with the music are not claimed.

Rights

Other rights issue

Attribution, takedown, dispute, or another rights question.

Message

Licensing inquiry

Ask about licensing, commissions, or using a track in a new project.

Message

Feedback

Tell the author what worked, what did not, or how the music was used.

Message

Suggestion

Propose a track, a version, a stem, or something the catalog is missing.

Message

Complaint

Report a problem with the music, a listing, or how a request was handled.

The page pays you back

Your music is free. Your time does not have to be.

Releasing claims is work, and the people who ask are usually making money from the video. The same page that collects their requests can collect what they want to pay you.

Support, from anyone who uses your music

A Support button on your page takes anything from $3 to $500, with a note attached. Every track stays free either way. You are the merchant of record; we keep 5% on Free and 3% on a paid plan, plus the card fee Stripe charges.

Paid extras beside the free catalog

Sell a commercial license for one project, a paid listen for a playlist, or faster handling of a request. The buyer's brief arrives in the same inbox with a reference number, and money lands in your own Stripe account. Selling is a Studio feature we switch on by hand; we keep 8%.

Licensing questions that used to get lost

Turn licensing on and the page shows your starting price. Every inquiry arrives as a tracked request instead of a DM you answer twice, on every plan, with nothing taken from what you agree with the client.

Support and sales need your own Stripe account, connected from the dashboard in a few minutes. Requesters never need an account to write to you.

Questions

Answers before you sign up.

Is release.claims free?

Yes. One author page with unlimited requests is free forever, including an email alert for every new request, a monthly digest, track sheets, the license checker, and 7 days of page traffic. Creator (US$12 a month) removes ads and adds auto-replies, reply and chat alerts, saved replies, a response target, 90-day analytics, CSV export, and a custom domain. Studio (US$39 a month) runs up to 10 author pages from one inbox. No card is needed for the free plan.

Does release.claims release the claim for me?

No. It delivers a complete, verified packet to the author and tracks the decision. The author releases or safelists through their Content ID provider, distributor, or label. We never charge requesters and never take a cut of anything.

What does the Verified badge mean?

Support confirmed by hand that the author controls the public profiles listed on the page. It is a control-of-profile check, not a legal opinion about copyright ownership.

Which platforms are supported?

Author profiles on Pixabay, SoundCloud, Spotify, YouTube, Bandcamp, Audius, Apple Music, Jamendo, Free Music Archive, and any official website. Requests can reference projects on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitch, or any other platform.

Do requesters need an account?

No. They submit the form and get a reference number and their private tracking link on the spot, plus an email that opens the same request once they confirm the address is theirs. If the link goes missing, they can recover it at release.claims/track with the reference and their email.

Can I handle feedback, licensing, and complaints too?

Yes. Every author page accepts claim releases, video and channel safelisting, other rights issues, licensing inquiries, feedback, suggestions, and complaints. They all get the same reference number, timeline, and status tracking, so nothing lives in a DM you will never find again.

Can I use my own domain?

Creator and Studio pages can run on a custom domain. Activation requires DNS ownership and certificate checks before any traffic is routed.
